CASE STUDY: A cross border move to retirement accommodation
The Home Straight was contacted by their partners in England The Senior Move Partnership, to manage the Scottish end of the cross border move to a high end retirement apartment complex in England.
The couple had no family in Scotland that could help and needed support to:
- Declutter and decide which belongings to take with them
- Undertake a pre-move visit to the new apartment to measure for furniture placement and measure windows for curtains

- Arranging for an auctioneer to visit to quote for selling the more valuable items that were not moving with them
- Arranging for removal quotes and liaising with the chosen removal company
- Being on the end of the phone to answer queries and reduce anxieties
- Providing a moving home checklist to enable the couple to remember who to contact re change of address
- Sourcing a dog walking service for when they move in
As a result of the help from The Home Straight the couple were able to:
