But the chances are that you need a bit of help adjusting to the change. Our coaches can help identify the main anxieties for both you and your family and work out the best ways of tackling them. We will be building this part of the site up with people who we trust and who we know will be able to offer you this kind of service starting with our friend and colleague Lynny Turner, see below.

Lynny Turner:  RGN,  BSc (Hons) Anthropology, RMN, RNT, PG Dip Higher Ed, PG Dip Psychodynamic Counseling, MA Integrative Psychotherapy.

Lynny was also born and brought up in East Africa, (we all went to school together!) and has personal experience of helping a parent downsize and relocate (and who is now very happy and content).

She is a qualified Adult and Mental Health Nurse, and a recently retired Senior Lecturer from City University (London), having taught in both these areas for more than twenty years.  Lynny has considerable experience, particularly with the elderly, and has worked at both Guys and St Bartholomew’s Hospital for many years. She also has qualifications in counselling and psychotherapy, and is experienced in helping those who are sad or who have psychological issues.  She has also taught these subjects for many years at the University of East London. Currently Lynny has her own business: Mental Health Care Training Ltd.  The business provides therapy, and/or training or teaching, to health professionals and carers, and now through The Home Straight, to older people and their families who need support at times of great change and transition such as moving and/or downsizing.
